My first trips were as a youth with my MYF (Methodist Youth Fellowship) group in the 1970s. Now I go with a bunch of gals nearly every summer, unless I am traveling to Norway that year. I love the peaceful beauty of the area and the hard work we put in paddling and portaging in order to get to that peace.
For the last three years I have gone with friends and family on mission trips to Texas and Mississippi through UMCOR to help with Hurricane Recovery. They have been amazing trips with amazing people. I look forward to another trip this year.
Mission Trips
I celebrate my Norwegian heritage whenever possible. At one Solørlag Stevne (Convention) I bid for a pair of Norwegian swim trunks in the silent auction. I lost the bid but was thrilled when I was awarded the trunks the next year at the Gals Late Night Party.
I have been lucky enough to travel to Norway 7 times. I have discovered many beautiful places and met many wonderful people including distant relatives. I have seen the churches that my Great Grandparents were baptized, confirmed and married in. I continue to study Norwegian language through community education classes.

I grew up with 3 brothers, 1 younger and 2 older which explains why I might be a bit of a Tomboy. I also have lots of cousins, aunts and uncles and my nephew & niece and their children. Mom and Dad are living the life or leisure with all their family nearby.

Welcome to my first attempt at a site. I am not sure how to write a blog or maintain a web site so bear with me. Hopefully you will find it entertaining and want to come back.
